More network users are adopting smartphones and the wide range of multimedia apps they support. In a fragmented market with new players, more devices and new ways to communicate, retaining the voice business is coupled with expanding into more services. In order to rationalize the networks and harmonize the services delivered, mobile and fixed networks are converging. Underlying these trends is the issue of aging equipment in public switched telephone networks (PSTNs).
Telephony Application Server (TAS), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) application server for IP telephony and multimedia, meets all necessary large network telephony requirements. It is designed for voice over LTE (VoLTE) enhanced with multimedia and convergence with PSTNs.
